Ryzen 2nd Generation Pricing Leaks
AMD's upcoming Ryzen 2nd Generation CPUs are set to release later this month, with an expected release date of April 19th, delivering higher base/boost clock speeds, enhanced precision boost technology and more. In short, Ryzen 2nd Generation is a refined version of Ryzen, built in Globalfoundries' new 12nm manufacturing process with several key design improvements.
What we have for you today is leaked pricing for AMD's upcoming Ryzen 2nd Generation CPU models, with four models ranging from the 6-core Ryzen 5 2600/2600X and the eight core 2700 and 2700X. Unlike AMD's first generation Ryzen CPUs all of these processors will ship with stock cooling solutions, adding a lot of extra value into the mix for AMD's high-end SKUs.
These prices come from Amazon's UK listings for Ryzen 2nd Generation products, offering MSRP prices that are a lot more affordable than AMD's original Ryzen processors at launch, with the 8-core Ryzen 7 2700X releasing with similar pricing to Intel's 6-core i7 8700K. AMD's 6-core 2600X (with SMT) is also priced similarly to Intel's 6-core i5 8600K (lacks Hyper-threading), showcasing how AMD's new CPUs models can offer more cores/threads than their competitor at each price point.
Below is a list of UK prices for AMD's Ryzen 5/7 2000 series lineup:
– Ryzen 5 2600 with Wraith Stealth – £174.99
– Ryzen 5 2600X with Wraith Spire – £214.99
– Ryzen 7 2700 with Wraith Spire – £259.99
– Ryzen 7 2700X with Wraith Prism RGB – £329.99
If these prices prove accurate, AMD's Ryzen 2nd Generation lineup is set to be incredibly competitive, provided the company can deliver improved performance levels.
Amazon's retail listings showcase a release date of April 19th, which is likely to be the same day that AMD's official review embargo will lift, allowing PC builders to see what AMD's latest processors are capable of.
