EVGA GTX 1070 Ti FTW Ultra Silent Review

Introduction

Hardware revisions are the type of thing that anyone who has had more than a passing interest in technology will have experienced. Depending on how pedantic you wish to be you can make the claim that anything from the Intel i7-920 up to today's Quad Core CPUs is all just a hardware revision of the same basic premise. Should you, however, be the type of person who would consider a split hair to be two brand new hairs then your definition might change a little.

Whichever side of the fence you sit on, clearly incremental improvement is the order of the day. The move from CRT to flat screen displays was a revolution, as was the leap from mechanical HDDs to SSDs. Most other things are variations on a theme.

What has all that to do with today's review we hear you ask? Well, we've already reviewed the EVGA GTX 1070 Ti FTW2, and it was amongst the best of the more mass market nVidia GPUs. Sure we all dream of GTX 1080 Tis, but the reality is that they are out of the financial reach of most of us. The GTX 1070 Ti though, even your significant other can be convinced it's a wise investment.

For today we have the EVGA GTX 1070 Ti FTW Ultra Silent up for review. It is, to be ultra simplistic, the same as the FTW2 but with a bigger cooler. We all like a quieter and more effective cooler, particular on graphics cards which can come to dominate our gaming sessions if they're particularly loud. So does this revised FTW bring the joy?
